නාම විශේෂණ පද වල  දෙවන ආකාරය පිලිබදවයි අද ලිපිය ගෙනෙන්නේ.

2] Kinds of adjectives.

There are different kinds of adjectives. - විවිධ නාමවිශේෂණ ඇත.

• Some adjectives describe the qualities of nouns.- සමහර නාමවිශේෂණ නාම පදවල ගුණාංග විස්තර කරයි.

a beautiful rainbow - ලස්සන දේදුන්නක්
a clever monkey - දක්ෂ වඳුරෙක්
a difficult question - අසීරු ප්‍රශ්නයක්
happy children - සන්තෝෂවත් දරුවන්
a kind lady - කරුණාවන්ත කාන්තාවක්
a new car - අලුත් කාර් එකක්
an old house - පරණ ගෙයක්
a pretty girl - ලස්සන කෙල්ලෙක්
a rich family - පොහොසත් පවුලක්
a sad story - කනගාටුදායක කතාවක්
a strong man - ශක්තිමත් මිනිසෙක්
a wicked queen - දුෂ්ට රැජිනකි

• Some adjectives tell you which place or country a person or thing comes from, or belongs to. They are called adjectives of origin. - සමහර නාම විශේෂණ ඔබට , පුද්ගලයෙකු හෝ දෙයක් පැමිණේ කුමන ස්ථානයකින්ද , කුමන රටකින්ද යන්න හෝ කුමකට යත් වේද යන්න පවසයි. ඒවා මූලාරම්භයේ නාම විශේෂණ ලෙස හැඳින්වේ.

Australian apples - ඕස්ට්‍රේලියානු ඇපල්
a Balinese dancer - බැලිනිස් නර්තන ශිල්පියෙක්
the English language - ඉංග්‍රීසි භාෂාව
the French flag - ප්‍රංශ ධජය
an Italian car - ඉතාලි කාර් එකක්
a Japanese garden - ජපන් උද්‍යානයක්
a Scottish kilt - ස්කොට්ලන්ත කිලෝග්‍රෑම් එකක්
Thai boxing - තායි බොක්සිං

• Some adjectives tell you the color of things. - සමහර නාමවිශේෂණ ඔබට දේවල් වල වර්ණය කියයි.

The sea is blue. - මුහුද නිල් පාටයි.
George is wearing brown shoes. - ජෝර්ජ් දුඹුරු සපත්තු ඇඳ සිටී.
I don’t like green apples. - මම කොළ ඇපල් වලට කැමති නැත.
Carrots are orange. - කැරට් තැඹිලි පාටයි.
Flamingos are pink. - ෆ්ලෙමින්ගෝස් රෝස පාටයි.
Eggplants are purple. - වම්බටු දම් පාටයි.
Roses are red. - ෙරා්ස මල් රතු පාටයි.
The sky is gray.- අහස අළු පාටයි.

• Some adjectives tell you the size of the nouns they describe. - සමහර නාමවිශේෂණ එය විස්තරකරන නාම පදවල ප්‍රමාණය ඔබට කියයි

a big hat - ලොකු තොප්පියක්
broad shoulders - පළල් උරහිස්
a high mountain - උස් කන්දක්
a large ship - විශාල නැවක්
a long bridge - දිගු පාලමක්
a low ceiling - අඩු සිවිලිමක්
a narrow path - පටු මාවතක්
small animals - කුඩා සතුන්
tiny insects - කුඩා කෘමීන්
a wide street - පුළුල් වීථියක්
Fat girl - මහතා ගැහැණු ළමයා
a thin boy - කෙට්ටු පිරිමි ළමයා

• Numbers are adjectives, too. They tell you how many people, animals, or things there are. Sometimes they are called adjectives of quantity. - ඉලක්කම් ද නාමවිශේෂණ  වේ. ඔවුන් ඔබට, මිනිසුන්, සතුන් හෝ දේවල් කීයක් කියනවාද යන්න පිළිබද පවසයි.සමහර විට ඒවා ප්‍රමාණයේ නාමවිශේෂණ ලෙස හැඳින්වේ.

eleven hens - කිකිළියන් එකොළොස් දෙනෙක්
fifteen frogs - ගෙම්බන් පහළොවක්
nineteen lizards - කටුස්සන්  දහනවයක්
twelve geese - පාත්තයින් දොළොස් දෙනෙක්
sixteen snails - ගොළුබෙල්ලන් 16 දෙනෙක්
twenty butterflies - සමනලුන් විස්සක්
thirteen birds - කුරුල්ලන් දහතුනක්
seventeen kittens - පූස් පැටවුන් 17 දෙනෙක්
fourteen mice - මීයන් දහහතරකි
eighteen ants - කුහුඹුවන් දහඅට දෙනෙක්

• Other adjectives tell you something about quantity without giving you the exact number.- වෙනත් නාමවිශේෂණ ඔබට නිශ්චිත අංකය ලබා නොදී, ප්‍රමාණය ගැන යමක් කියයි.

a little ice cream - අයිස්ක්‍රීම් ටිකක්
a little rice - බත් ටිකක්
not many people - බොහෝ මිනිසුන් නොවේ
too much salt - ලුණු වැඩි ප්‍රමාණයක්
lots of insects - කෘමීන් ගොඩක්
plenty of money - ඕනෑ තරම් මුදල්
some food - කෑම ටිකක්
Is there any milk? - කිරි මොනවහෝ තිබේද?
a few puppies - බල්ලන් ටිකක්

Adjectives that tell you about quantity are also called quantifying determiners. - ප්‍රමාණය ගැන ඔබට පවසන නාමවිශේෂණ ප්‍රමාණ නිර්ණායක ලෙස හැඳින්වේ.
