Demonstrative Determiners

අද දින ලිපිය වෙන්වන්නේ Determiners වලට අයත්  දෙවන වර්ගය වන Demonstrative Determiners පිලිබදවයි.

The words this, that, these and those are determiners. They are used to tell which thing or person you mean. These words are called demonstrative determiners, or demonstrative adjectives.

මෙය, එය, මේවා සහ ඒවා යන වචන නිරුපනනිර්ණායක වේ.ඒවා  භාවිතා කරන්නේ කුමන දෙය හෝ පුද්ගලයාද යන්න පැවසීමටයි.මෙම වචන නිරූපණ නිර්ණායක , හෝ නිරූපණ නාමවිශේෂණ ලෙස  හැඳින්වේ.

• I am keeping these books.

          මම මේ පොත් තබනවා.

• I am selling those books.

         මම ඒ පොත් විකුනනවා .

• This ice cream is delicious.

          මේ අයිස් ක්‍රීම් රසයි.

• How much is that bicycle?

         ඒ / අර බයිසිකලය කීයද ?

• What is that animal?

          ඒ සතා මොකෙද්ද?

• Bring me that ball.

         මට එම බෝලය ගෙනෙන්න.

• Would you like these apples?

          ඔබ මේ ඇපල් වලට කැමතිද?

• James lives in this house.

         ජේම්ස් ජිවත් වෙන්නේ මේ නිවසේයි.

       You use this and these to point to people or things near you.

       You use that and those to point to people or things that are

        farther from you.

You use this and that before singular nouns.

You use these and those before plural nouns.
